Question 1

How long does my parcel stay in the locker?

Accepted Answer

Your parcel stays available for 48 hours and you get automatic reminders before the deadline. After that, a penalty of a quarter of the price applies per 12-hour period. Any period that has started is due.

Question 2

Do I need an account to use Afribox?

Accepted Answer

Not as an individual: you can book and pay without an account. An account is required for Pro accounts, rented compartments and private lockers.

Question 3

Can I switch lockers after booking?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Within the 48 hours of your booking, you can drop your parcel off at another locker, or move it from one locker to another, depending on availability. Transport is up to you; Afribox charges nothing extra and the 48-hour window is not extended.

Question 4

Is my parcel safe inside the locker?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every compartment is electronically locked (solenoid lock and RFID reader) and only opens with the single-use code sent by SMS. Two cameras film the front continuously and every drop-off and pickup is timestamped and logged.

Question 5

How does pickup work?

Accepted Answer

You come to the locker whenever suits you, 24 hours a day. On the touchscreen you enter the code you received by SMS: the compartment opens and you take your parcel. That is it.

Question 6

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

The price depends on compartment size, for 48 hours of storage: 500 FCFA (Small), 750 FCFA (Medium), 1,250 FCFA (Large) and 2,000 FCFA (Extra large). Pro accounts get tiered pricing from 50 parcels a month.

Question 7

Can I use Afribox without a smartphone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The pickup code arrives as a plain SMS. No app and no internet connection required.

Question 8

Where and when can I use a locker?

Accepted Answer

We are launching our pilot network in Abidjan: the first lockers are at Cap Sud (Marcory), Sococé (2 Plateaux), Abobo Town Hall and Cosmos (Yopougon). Bouaké is coming next. You can already pre-book your slot: we will notify you as soon as a locker opens near you.

Question 9

What parcel sizes can I drop off?

Accepted Answer

Our compartments come in four sizes: Small (35 × 10 × 49 cm) for documents and accessories, Medium (35 × 20 × 49 cm) for clothing and electronics, Large (35 × 30 × 49 cm) for bulkier items, up to 15 kg per parcel, and Extra large (XL) for oversized parcels.

Question 10

How do I pay?

Accepted Answer

Payment is taken when you book, never at pickup: by VISA card or Mobile Money (Orange Money, Wave or MTN). With an account, you can also pay from your top-up wallet. Confirmation is instant.

Question 11

Can I also send a parcel or return an item?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Beyond receiving online orders, you can drop off a parcel to ship or a merchant return in a locker and even arrange a handover between individuals. You book, you drop off and the recipient or courier collects with their code.

Question 12

How does a rented compartment work?

Accepted Answer

You rent a dedicated compartment, which becomes your fixed delivery address. You pay monthly or yearly in one go with a 10% discount. An identity check is required when you sign up.

Question 13

Who can pay after delivery?

Accepted Answer

Pro accounts from 50 parcels a month, committed or reached. Invoices are payable within 15 days; if one goes unpaid, the account is suspended.
