Data we collect

We only collect the data you choose to send us:

  • Contact form: full name, company (optional), phone, email address (optional), subject of the request, estimated monthly volume and message (optional).
  • Locker pre-booking: chosen locker, size, duration, recipient’s phone number, optional message, intended payment method and estimated amount. No payment is made on the website.
  • Locky assistant: the messages you write to it, for the time needed to produce an answer.
  • Technical data: like any web server, our host logs the IP address, date and requested page, for security and to keep the website running.

When you use our lockers

Once the network opens, using the lockers also involves the following processing:

  • Delivery data: parcel details, locker used, drop-off and pickup times, pickup codes. The recipient’s phone number is used to send them the parcel and its code, by SMS or WhatsApp.
  • Payments: amount and status. Bank card and Mobile Money details are handled by our payment providers; Afribox does not store them.
  • Business accounts: company documents and an ID document of its legal representative, to verify the account.
  • Video surveillance: each locker is filmed continuously to protect parcels and prevent fraud.

Why we use it

  • To answer your requests and get back to you (legal basis: your request).
  • To handle your pre-booking and let you know when a locker opens near you (legal basis: pre-contractual steps taken at your request).
  • To deliver and secure parcels, and manage business accounts and billing (legal basis: performance of the service).
  • To keep the website and lockers secure and prevent fraud and abuse (legal basis: our legitimate interest).
  • To meet our legal obligations, including accounting and tax (legal basis: the law).

Who has access

Your data is intended for the AFRIBOX SARL team. It is never sold or rented, and is only disclosed to the authorities when the law requires it. The website relies on the following providers:

  • OVH SAS: website hosting.
  • Google (Google Sheets): storage of contact requests and pre-bookings.
  • Anthropic: generating the Locky assistant’s answers. Conversations are not kept by Afribox.
  • WhatsApp (Meta): only if you choose to continue the conversation on WhatsApp.
  • OpenStreetMap and unpkg: displaying the locker map, which is loaded from their servers.
  • SMS and payment providers: once the network opens.

Transfers outside Côte d’Ivoire

Some of these providers are located outside Côte d’Ivoire (European Union, United States). We only share the data each one needs to provide its service, in line with Ivorian rules on data transfers.

Retention

  • Contact requests and pre-bookings: 3 years after our last exchange, then deleted.
  • Camera footage: deleted after 30 days, unless an incident requires keeping it.
  • Payment and billing data: the legal retention period for accounting records.
  • Server technical logs: 12 months at most.
  • Conversations with Locky: not kept by Afribox.
